Something I find that I’m struggling with are the ISO settings. I usually set it to ‘Auto’, but I think I need to take greater control. There’s a lot of noise here.

Rather than wasting time on manual focusing or autofocus, simply use zone focusing. If you are unfamiliar with the technique, it is setting your camera to a pre-set focusing distance (ie 1 meter or 2 meters) and selecting a high f-stop with a large depth of field (ie f/11 or f/16). Don’t forget when you are doing this to keep your ISO high in cloudy or dim light (ie 1600, 3200 ISO) to keep your shutter speed fast enough (you want at least 320ths/second to prevent motion blur).

I have been building my online presence for several years now and have been largely successful in keeping up to date with the various social nodes that have appeared. I won’t lie, I’ve made a lot of mistakes and have not always used them in the manner for which they were designed, but I am now in the process of setting things right.
